Do you want to be the next Mad Hatter??

Well the time has finally come to search for a new team of Mad Hatters!! If you would love to put your name forward for a spot then the process is simple:

  • Small bio piece about yourself
  • 2 x photos of layouts that are indicative of your own personal style
  • a link to your personal blog or an online gallery with your work
  • a small paragraph outlining why you think you could be the next Mad Hatter

Pop this all in an email to me outofthehat.amanda@gmail.com before midnight on the 25th of this month. I will choose the new team shortly after and they will be ready to start on their first assignment in December. There are 5 positions available and they will be for a term of 6 months.

Any further questions please feel free to email me at the above addy.

Mad Hatter Shazza's last layout.......

Baby Blue Eyes

I loved the criteria for this challenge, I knew straight away what photos I wanted to use and even the die cut paper. My photos are all different sizes and instead of using one tree (like Anne) I have a small forest....... lol As the die cut paper was not very large I have kept the layout simple and not too busy!
My stint at 'Out of the Hat' is nearly over, I will miss the other ladies on the team, Anne, Christine, Taryn and Debbie, we've had a lot of fun. Proudly we were the first Mad Hatters chosen so I will always remember that :) Thanks to Amanda for my first ever DT position, its made me think out of the square and to meet deadlines!! I will miss you all, the good thing is I will be back next month to play along with the next lot of criteria!
Cheers for now
Shazza

Fashionista

Hey everyone, check out my little fashion plate! I know these photos are dreadful, but I just couldn't resist! I used the scraps from a die-cut (the red part), just for something different.

So sad to see our time with OOTH come to an end. I have had a blast. Thanks to all the DT for sharing this awesome experience, and extra special HUGS to Amanda. Just love how effecient and reliable you are girl, and you know I LOVE this challenge blog. Too cool.

MAD HATTER Christine's November LO

OUR SPECIAL THINKING SPOT
What a fabulous criteria to work with - at first I was thinking tree and then I remembered the pile of chipboard I keep buying (and don't use very often). So love this range of Sassafras and have done so many layouts with it the last couple of weeks.
Diecut paper: I cut mine out of sassafras, monstrosity, spot on, patterned paper.
3 different size photos: 10x7; 8x6; 6x5
Tree: found this chipboard tree in amongst my ever growing stash of chipboard shapes, painted and the DM'd it
Added some cut out shapes from sassafras, monstrosity, framed, patterned paper and a sticker journal box from the same range.
Alphas are carolees tiny red letters (another favourite product of mine).

I would also like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to Amanda for giving me the chance to be part of the fabulous DT here at Out of the Hat and I have thoroughly enjoyed the past 6 months (time flies).

Mad Hatter Anne's Final Run

Hi Guys,

To tell you the truth I initially really struggled with the criteria this month, but when I finished I was REALLY pleased with how it turned out. This is one of the reasons I have always LOVED Out of the Hat, as it makes you try new things and get out of your comfort zone and sometimes it works, and other times it doesn't, but at least you got to give it a try.

1. A tree -I ended up with three
2. 3 pics of different sizes - Check
3. Use a die cut paper - Mine is the white sheet which was cut on an accucut at my LSS.

Thank you all for your wonderful and supportive comments during my time on the Out of the Hat team.

Thanks for Looking and I hope you have lots of fun with your LO.

November challenge is ....

1. A tree - Lisa Kamphuis
2. 3 pics of different sizes - Natalie King
3. Use a die cut paper - Avina Lim
Very cool criteria and definately a breath of fresh air after the double layout fiasco!! ;-)
Sadly November will be the last month for our current Mad Hatters. :-( Their 6 months drew to a close at the end of October but the ladies have all agreed to stay with me for this one last month while I take a moment to rest after our month long Birthday party before I begin the search for a new team of talented scrappers.
Anne, Christine, Taryn, Debbie and Shazza have all been an integral part of the team here for the last 6 months and it has been a pleasure to work along side them all! They are a fantastic bunch of ladies and I am so proud to see how they have grown and flourished over their time. For most of them this was their 1st DT appointment and now most of them have a list of appointments as long as your arm!! They are all on several design teams and our Mad Hatter Debbie Johnston was recently announced as being on the short list as a Scrapbook Memories Master for 2009!
While they are all hard at work completing their final challenge as Mad Hatter's for Out of the Hat I just want to take a moment to wish them all the best of luck in their future eneavours. My life is better for having worked alongside such a wonderful and talented bunch of women!
Thank-you from the bottom of my heart for all that you have given.
Amanda xx
